Subject :  TV Ears vs Sennheiser 812
posted by ed121 on Wed Jul 11, 2007 2:12 pm
I saw the TV Ears at Costco for only $79.95 so I bought one and compared it to my Sennheisers. Was disappointed in their performance.

As I have a severe/profound loss I need lots of volume (output SPL). The TV Ears at max volume were just loud enough. The distortion and lack of highs were very apparent. Dropped the gain down but the sound quality did not improve. I suppose if you have a mild loss and are not too critical these TV Ears will suffice.

The Sennheiser's are clearly superior in sound quality and build quality (general construction). And they should be as they cost twice as much. Ed
